Essay 1-03b: Language Learning History

Hello. I will tell you about my learning language histories. I like learning language from when I was child. I have learned some language since I was child. I started learning Japanese in my childhood. I started learning English in junior high school. And, I started learning French in a freshman. I am learning Japanese and English now at KGU.

First, I will tell you about my childhood. I learned mother tongue, Japanese, from my parents, older sister and grandparents in early years. The word that I spoke for the first time is “manma”. When I was a pre-school years, I learned Japanese from my family, relatives, neighbors, friends and teachers, but I think I couldn’t write and read well. I learned hiragana, katakana and kanji in elementary school. I liked learning kanji, and I like reading textbook. I was taught Japanese skills in school and my home.

Second, I will tell you about my secondary schooling. I learned Japanese and English in junior high school and high school. I started learning English at first time in junior high school, and I also learned modern Japanese and classics at first time in junior high school. I learned English skills, reading, writing, speaking and listening, and sub-skills, alphabet and grammar, in junior high school. I liked learning Japanese and English than other subjects. But it was difficult for me to learn classics, so I studied hard. I went to the English private supplementary school as extracurricular activities when I was a junior high school student, because my older sister went there, too. I enjoyed learning English.

Furthermore, I learned modern Japanese and classics in high school. It was difficult more, but I like learning Japanese. I learned English skills, reading, writing, speaking and listening, and sub-skills, grammar and vocabulary, in high school. I liked learning English more, but I was not good at remembering vocabulary. So, I studied hard. I did many my homework. It was hard for me to learn English and Japanese, but I enjoyed learning because my teachers were very kind.

Third, I will tell you about college. I learn Japanese and English now. I learned French when I was a freshman. It was difficult for me. And everyone that learned French thinks it was difficult. So, we aren't good at learning French. I thought French was more difficult than English. I learned grammar and pronunciation. Pronunciation was difficult for me in particular, so I studied it hard. Other language learning people want to learn French, so they asked me to teach. But I am not good at teaching, so let's learn together! I learn English hard now. I study English every day. I learned skills, reading, writing, speaking and listening, and sub-skills, grammar and pronunciation, now. It is hard, and it is interesting. I am not good at listening, so I have to study than other. And, I want to improve more pronunciation.

Finally, I learned Japanese and English from others in official approval, TV, music and a book. I have studied kanji and English for official approval. I like watching a foreign film and listening Western music. I often listen POP music. I can learn English although I enjoy. I am reading an English newspaper in a Reading class. It is difficult to read. I learn a language by various means.

I have learned Japanese, English and French. I am learning Japanese and English now at KGU. I started learning a language from childhood. I like learning a language. Because I have not been to the foreign country, I want to go foreign country sometime. I want to go France, because I want to talk French with the French. When I thought about my learning language histories, I thought that it was good that I was learning a language. I want to improve language skills more and I want to learn other language.
